Here’s a list of flows. You might not need them all, but you DEFINITELY need some.

Depending on your business, you might need some flows, and not others. Here are some sequences that most ecom businesses need:

  • These “welcome aboard” emails are for folks who’ve just given you their email addresses.

  • A series of friendly, informative emails that go out to most people on the list, at least until they buy something (at which time they might start getting an alternative sequence, depending on the frequency and nature of their purchases).

  • This series reaches out to customers who have visited your site, but put nothing in their cart.

  • For people who started a purchase, but didn’t finish it. You’re inviting them back to the cart to complete the purchase.

  • Here you’re celebrating a purchase and personally thanking the customer.

  • The message is “Get Ready. It’s on its way. It won’t be long now.”

  • “It’s finally in your hands. More congratulations. Tips on ways to make the most of it.

  • A series of special offers and discounts for repeat or otherwise qualified buyers.

  • Used for holidays, special events (Super Bowl, World Series, Elections, etc.). Usually a special offer with a deadline.

  • Special offers for customers who have purchased in the past, but not recently.
